Della Mary Harris, 57, of Roanoke, Va., went to be with the Lord on Monday, August 30, 2010. She was born in Franklin County to Mary Lawton Kent and the late Edward Lawton. She was preceded in death by a brother, Buford L. Lawton. Survivors include her mother, Mary; daughter, Stephanie Smith (Richard); son, Carlos Harris; grandchildren, Jasmin, Ariel, Lakara, Cheyenne Harris and R.J. Smith; sisters, Frances M. Davis, Emma (Mundy) Bond, Lucy (Jimmy) Harper, the Rev. Elizabeth Goodman, Marjorie Crawley, Dr. Lucille Lawton, and Leola (Bufus) Taylor; a brother, the Rev. Marvin (Sharon) Lawton; friends, Mary Jackson and Sheila Fagins; and other relatives and friends. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. on Saturday, September 4, 2010, at Mt. Hebron Church of Christ with Pastor Lucille Lawton officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
