Green-Wood Cemetery
Section 188, Lots 15275, 15276, 15277, conjoined.
This photo takes in 3 lots: 15275 (Spangenberg, left), 15276 (Hundt, center), and 15277 (Wilhelm and Baettenhaussen, right). The cemetery's map of section 188 shows these as conjoined lots, suggesting relationship among the families. That is confirmed by census reports that show Wilhelms living with both Spangenbergs and Baettenhaussens between 1850 and 1870. One inscription informs us that Caroline Wilhelm married William Baettenhaussen. And cemetery records show one Hundt individual buried in each of lots 15276 and 15277.
LOT LAYOUT AND INSCRIPTIONS
There is one illegible stone under the tree in the Spangenberg lot (15275).
The Hundt lot (17256) features 2 flat and illegible stones, one of which bears the barely legible surname, Hundt.
Lot 15277 (right) features 1 illegible Wilhelm stone in the rear and 3 Baettenhaussen stones in front.
