Jason graduated from McKinleyville High School. Upon graduation from high school, he fulfilled his dream of becoming a U.S. Marine at the age of 17. He spent most of his four year tour of duty as a member of the Special Security Force at Camp David. He also bravely served our country in Iraq. Corporal Sekera received a Presidential Service Certificate, of which he was most proud. Upon returning home, Jason was employed by PG&E. Everyone who came in contact with Jason was touched by his loving heart, his adventurous spirit and his ready smile.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Joseph and Marjorie Sekera, and his cousins Wayne Lacey and Samantha Sekera.
