Donna Albert

A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 5, at 3095 Metolious Drive in Eugene for Donna J. Albert of Eugene, who died Aug. 28 of cancer at age 73.

She was born Oct. 13, 1936, in Sunnyside, Wash., to Claude and Gladys Turley Newcomb. She married Clement W. Albert on Aug. 30, 1952, in Benton City, Wash.

She worked at The Register-Guard and at the Eugene School District. She was a phlebotomy instructor at Lane Community College, and retired from Oregon Medical Labs after 21 years as a phlebotomist.

Survivors include her husband; four daughters, Debra Cox, Sherry Albert, Cari King and Doris Anderson, all of Eugene; two sons, Eugene of Eugene and Roatan, Honduras, and Vernon of Roatan; a brother, David Newcomb of Seattle; a sister, Connie Compos of Grandview, Wash.; and 17 grand­children and 21 great-grandchildren.
