Mr. Wayne Beechum Alford, a resident of Carrollton Manor, Carrollton, Georgia, formerly of Bowdon, passed away on Saturday, February 9, 2008. He was 82. Mr. Alford was born in Carroll County, Georgia, on October 26, 1925, to the late Perry Calvin Sr. and Myrtic Barnes Alford. He was a Veteran of the United States Army, a retired cattleman and was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Alford was preceded in death by his brother, P.C. Alford Jr.; and his sister, Margaret Johnson. Survivors include his wife, Brenda Brooks Alford; two sisters and brothers-in-law, all of GA; two stepsons of Bowdon; and two step-grandchildren of Bowdon.
Funeral services held February 10 from the Chapel of Rainwater Funeral Home, Bowdon, with Dr. Jerry Light and Rev. Tom Stewart officiate. Music provided by Mary Ella and Larry Beam. The ingollowing gentlemen serve as pallbearers: Paul Landers, Bryan Carden, Donnie Powers, Randy Powers, Nick Powers and Sonny Williamson. Interment at Tyus Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Justin Richards conducting the graveside services.
