O. C. Woodard Obituary -

Funeral services for O. C. Woodard, 42, of Waynesboro, were held at 3 p.m. today (Wednesday) from Hopper-DeLoach Funeral Home, Waynesboro. The Rev. Gary Linebaugh officiated and burial was at Eastside Cemetery, Statesboro, at 4:30.

The former resident of Emanuel County was killed Monday afternoon by electrical shock while working on power lines in Millen.

The employee of Georgia Power Company was changing lightning arrestors on the lines when he accidentally contacted 7200 volts of electricity, a spokesman for the power company said.

The native of Laurens County was a son of the late David and Ollie Register Woodard. He had been a resident of Waynesboro for three years and was a member of Bible Church and Burke County Riding Club.

Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Willie Ann Moseley Woodard of Waynesboro; two daughters, Mrs. Linda Akins and Miss Carolyn Ann Woodard of Statesboro; two sons, Larry Clinton Woodard of Waynesboro and Danny Cleveland Woodard of Statesboro; six sisters, Mrs. Avis Howell of Cedar Grove, Mrs. Dollie Mae Howell, Mrs. Clyde Allen and Mrs. Tommie Gaillard of Dublin, Mrs. Pinney Oliver of Fort Pierce, Fla. and Mrs. Ethel Goff of Zellwood, Fla. and a brother, James Ira Woodard of Rentz.

Hopper-DeLoach Funeral Home of Waynesboro was in charge.
