Funeral services for Audrey Berl Smith Alexander, of McCall Creek, are 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 31, at Ramah Baptist Church in Brookhaven with burial in the church cemetery. Riverwood Family Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation is Sunday from 1 p.m. until the time of the service at the church.
Mrs. Alexander, 89, died Oct. 29, 2010, at King's Daughters Medical Center in Brookhaven. She was born in Mississippi on Feb. 8, 1921, to Joseph Douglas Holloway and Annie Fauver Holloway.
She was retired from Stahl-Urban Manufacturing Co. She was a member of Ramah Baptist Church and a Sunday school teacher for more than 20 years.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Joseph and Annie Holloway; her husbands, Clyde W. Smith and the Rev. W.E. Alexander; her great-grandson, Jacob Dunn; her sisters, Myrtis Smith, Donis Rice and Elsie Matthews; and her son-in-law, Lawrence Stringer.
Survivors are her daughters, Yvonne McTaggart and husband, John, of McCall Creek, and Gail Stringer, of Pelahatchie; her sister, Lorraine Jones, of Virginia; her grandchildren, Sondra Dunn and husband, David, Shea Long and husband, Chip, and Shaun Stringer and wife, Melissa; and her great-grandchildren, Bridgett Vanover and husband, Jeremy, Wyatt Long, and Tyler Symon Myles Stringer.
