She was born Dec. 11, 1924, in Sikeston, daughter of the late Anna (Baucher) Fox; she was a member of Miner Baptist Church and had worked as a telegraph operator for Western Union and later as a secretary for First Baptist Church before retiring.
On Sept. 3, 1944, in Sikeston, she married Castor R. Alsup; he preceded her in death on Dec. 17, 2005.
She was also preceded by one infant daughter, Pamela Louise Alsup; one foster daughter, Alberta Crow; two brothers; her aunt and uncle that raised her, Glenn and Daisy Fish; one sister; and one great-grandson, Keegan Allen Lewis.
Survivors include: two sons and one daughter-in-law, Glenn "Skip" Alsup and Steve and Nancy Alsup; one daughter and son-in-law, Rosemary and Dennis Overbey; nine grandchildren, Kimberly (Tony) Street, James (Mary) Alsup, Amanda (Mark) Lewis, Shannon (Patrick) Kaelin, Matthew (Tangela) Alsup and Kenny Alsup, D.J. (Tricia) Overbey, Courtney (Brock) Bertrand, and Jan (Angelina) Crow; 13 great-grandchildren; and children who made their home with Mary and Castor, Vickie Watling, Ann Crowley and Lorraine Archer.
Visitation was until time of services at Miner Baptist Church. The Rev. Mitch Jackson, pastor, officiated.
Burial followed in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston.
Pallbearers were: Craig Hahs, David Hahs, Phil Butler, Mike Marsh, Alan Mc-Clellan and Randy Brookman.
The Ponder Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
