United States Navy Mexican War Veteran. He served in the United States Navy as an Apprentice First Class on board the frigates "USS Experience", "USS Pennsylvania", "USS Potomac" and "USS Allegheny". He enlisted on February 10, 1846 and was discharged on August 8, 1849. When he passed away in Washington, DC in September 1929, he was the last surviving veteran of the Mexican War.
