John "Dennis" Anderson (Cherokee) was born in the Ft. Gibson bottom(s). He moved to Cherokee Co. after his marriage to Margaret Post (Cherokee) of Woodall and returned to Ft. Gibson in the 1940's.

They had 8 children: twins who died and Vendetta who drowned (all 3 buried at this cem.); Carrieretha Anderson Dause and Evadene Anderson Dause (both buried at Citizens Cem., Ft. Gibson, OK); William Albert, Willis (buried at Holland Cem., Cherokee Co., OK), and Charles E. Anderson (buried at Citizens Cem., Ft. Gibson, OK).

He was a farmer and worked for the Highway Department. He had diabetes and had lost one leg before he died. He was part Cherokee and he and Margaret were mentioned in C. W. West's Book, "Fort Gibson, Gateway to the West."
