LONGO Sr., FRANK P. October 18, 1920 to April 16, 2010 Frank Longo was born in Rochester, New York. Frank joined the military at a very young age to help support his mother. In his Naval career, he fought in a total of three wars- World War II, The Korean War and Vietnam. He was honored with several medals and served on a number of ships, one of which was the USS Astoria CA/34 which was sunk and at the time he was reported dead. After proudly serving a total of 32 years in the Navy, he retired as a chief warrant officer in 1972. He then traveled a little and moved on to enjoy such hobbies as bowling, chess and became Mr. Handyman to his family and neighbors. He will be missed by his three children, Patricia Shepard, Frank Longo Jr. and Margarette Fiocco. He also leaves behind eight grandchildren and 11 great-grand-children. Services for Frank will be held at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery on Thursday, May 6th, at 9:00 a.m.
