Evelyn was the daughter of Albert Denton and Hazel Marie(Wisecarver)Shaffer born on September 28, 1927. She is survived by one son Stephen Taylor and wife Judy of Kirksville, Missouri; one daughter Jana Taylor Martin and husband Jim of Sarasota, Florida; grandsons Jason Taylor and wife Rachel of Linn Creek, Missouri, Asa Martin of Atlanta, Georgia and great grandchildren Pierce and Scarlett Taylor. She is also survived by her sister Norma Stephens of Benton, Kansas.
Evelyn graduated from the Northeast Missouri State Teachers College(now Truman University)and began teaching. She began her teaching career at Olive Hill Country School and later taught kindergarten at Washington School in Kirksville, Missouri. After teaching for 20 years she moved to Florida where she started The Evie Best Group Private Health Care for 20 years. Her greatest gift was making everyone she met feel special and loved.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
