ARROYO GRANDE - Memorial services were held Tuesday, June 14 in Halcyon for William Eugene Clark, 47, who died June 9, 1988. Eleanor Shumway, inner guard, conducted the services at the Temple of the People and in the Halcyon Cemetery. Mr. Clark was born in Woodland, on Oct. 10, 1940. He attended school there; then he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps. and served
two years in the Philipines. He was employed by the California Division of Forestry from 1970 to 1983 and operated a bulldozer on many fires. Since that time, he has been a freelance heavy equipment operator in this area and has cut pads for homes and businesses as well as doing a lot of work for the people in Halcyon. He is survived by his wife, Susan Clark of Halcyon; two sons, Dave and Mike; two daughters, Barbie and Jenny; two sisters, Nora Jones and Marlene Covington; two brothers, Richard and Tom Covington; and his mother, Blanche Covington. His stepfather, Dick Covington, preceded him in death in 1986.
