RICHARD I. TROAST, SR.
AGE: 82 WHITING
Richard I. Troast, Sr., 82, of Whiting, passed away Sunday, Aug. 22, 2010 at home.
Born in Sitka, Alaska, he lived in East Brunswick, NJ and Myrtle Beach, SC for 22 years before moving to Whiting in 2002.
He enjoyed playing golf and enjoyed woodwork. He was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting.
Richard was predeceased by his son, Daniel (Daniel Joseph "Danny" Troast, Sr.) in 1993.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Claire; one daughter and son-in-law, Claire and Ken Bergen; five sons and daughters-in-law, Richard I., Jr. and Judy, Thomas and Sue, Jack and Diane, Eric and Maureen and Glen and Mary; one brother, Lester Troast; 18 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Relatives and friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.. Tuesday and from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Wednesday morning at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Rd., Whiting. A funeral liturgy will follow at 11 a.m. at the All Saints Chapel of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting. Interment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, Toms River.
Donations in his memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital , 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN. 38105-1942.
