Millicent, named for her beloved grandmother, Millicent Willson Hearst, placed a very high priority on philanthropic efforts, as did her name-sake. Granddaughter of William Randolph Hearst, Mrs. Boudjakdji was named president of the William Randolph Hearst Foundation, an independent private philanthropy, in January 2001. She had served on The Hearst Corporation's board of directors since 1986, the same year she was named a testamentary trustee of the trusts established under the will of William Randolph Hearst. She assumed these positions following the death of her father, David W. Hearst. David and his twin, Randolph Apperson Hearst, were the youngest of William Randolph Hearst's five sons. In 1964, she married Raouf Boudjakdji, Algerian ambassador to the United Nations. She is survived by her husband, daughter, Anissa Boudjakdji and three additional children, as well as three grandchildren, her mother, Hope Chandler Hearst and her only brother, David W. Hearst, Jr. She passsed away from complications of cancer.
