Mrs. Thomas W. Jones

Dollie M. Kelly, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Kelly, was born in Warren township, Wayne county, Iowa, December 19, 1879, and died at her home in Allerton, Ia., May 5, 1943, at the age of 64 years, 4 months and 17 days.

She was married to Thomas W. Jones September 12, 1900 and to them were born seven children, who with their bereaved father, survive. They are Mrs. Fay Goodyear, Dorothy Thompson and Frane Wilson, all of Allerton; Mrs. Ethel Williams of Rockport, Ill., Mrs. Bernadine Johnson of Lineville, Ia., Mrs. Theda Myers of Davenport, Ia., and Howard Jones of Beloit, Wisc. There are also 13 grandchildren.

Mrs. Jones united with the Zion Hill Methodist church in 1901, where she was a faithful member until 1936 when she transferred her membership to the Allerton Methodist church.

A devoted mother, her greatest ambition was to meet the needs of her children with an understanding, love and consideration. Her family was near her bedside during her last illness and did all they could to comfort her. Her favorite Bible passage was John 14. Her favorite song, "When the Roll is Called Up Yonder".

Funeral services were held Sunday, May 9, with her pastor, the Rev. S.P. Trostle, officiating.
