CHICOPEE - Albert J. Cardinal, 86, of Riverview Terrace, died Sunday, Nov. 26, 2006 at the Holyoke Medical Center. Born March 3, 1920 in West Springfield, he was the son of the late Joseph J. & Marguerite (Emigh) Cardinal. He was an Army Veteran of WWII. Al operated the family business, Cardinal Floors of Chicopee, and had also worked for Worthington Pump. He was a life member of the American Legion, Post #266 in Granby. Al was predeceased by his first wife, Bertha (Thorpe) Cardinal. He is survived by his second wife, Elaine M. (Nicodemus) Cardinal, four children, Barbara Cardinal of California, Suzanne Cote of Chicopee, David Cardinal of Chicopee, and Richard Cardinal and his wife Lori of South Hadley. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday at 8:45am in the Ryder Funeral Home, 33 Lamb St., South Hadley with burial to follow with military honors at the Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery in Agawam at 10am.
