AUTEN, Dessa M. Gramlich, of Bethlehem, Wheeling WV, died Sunday, November 5, 2006 at Wheeling Hospital. Dessa was born in Wheeling WV and was the daughter of the late Paul and Edna Flood Gramlich. She was a beloved and devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Dessa was a member of the former St. Marys Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and was retired from Riesbeck's where she worked in the Bakery Department. Dessa was one of the first female members of Bethlehem City Council and was a former member of the Ritchey School PTA.
In addition to her parents, Dessa was preceded in death by her sister, Avis Lepper and her former husband, Thomas H. Auten, Sr.
Surviving are three sons, Paul Singer and his wife Anita of Wheeling, Thomas H. Auten Jr. of Bethlehem, and Timothy J. Auten and his wife Debbie of Bethlehem;
one daughter, Debby Salkovick of Bethlehem; one brother, Phil Gramlich and his wife Peggy of Mozart; eleven grandchildren, Tara Singer, Adam Singer, Tona Singer, and Jessi Singer, Donald Salkovick, Christina Salkovick, Tommy Auten, Chelsea Auten, Joshua Auten, Jacob Auten, and Kristin Yaquinta. Six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephew.
