Mrs. Sadie L. Sparks, age 73, passed away Thursday, Aug. 19, 2010, at her residence in Nacogdoches County, Texas.
Mrs. Sparks was born Sept. 20, 1936, in Como, Texas, to James Claude Greening and Mary Lee (Broach) Greening and had been a lifelong resident of the Nacogdoches area. She was retired from several years of employment in the insurance business.
She is survived by her husband, Harold Sparks of Nacogdoches; sons, Terry Odell Sparks and wife Susan of Silsbee, Texas, Michael Shane Sparks and wife Elizabeth of Sterling, Virginia, Loy Dean Sparks and wife Wendy of Tampa, Florida, and Clyde Harold Sparks Jr. and wife Veronica of Nacogdoches; brothers, James Allen Greening of Hugh Springs, Texas, Mayburn Greening of Lufkin, Texas, Donald Greening of Garrison, Texas, and Homer Greening of Cleveland, Texas; sisters, Mary Ellen Rambin of Garrison, Texas, and Margarette Broussard of Orange, Texas; 16 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Gary Greening and Bobby Greening.
Funeral services are set for 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 22, at Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel, 5400 North Street, with Bro. Shack Arrington officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, Nacogdoches.
