Obituary:
Mrs. Ida Mae Smith Rose, age 74, died Sunday afternoon, Nov. 20 at the home of her son-in-law, Tom Alford, south of Rockdale and funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock with burial at Forest Grove. Services were conducted by the Rev. H.E. Crone. Born in Atlanta, Georgia, Nov. 27, 1864, she came to Texas with her parents at the age of three years and settled at LaGrange. At the age of fifteen years, she met and married George William Rose, who preceeded her in death ten years ago. To this union were born thirteen children, all of whom are living, except two.

She belonged to the Methodist Church until 1903, when she placed her membership with the Christian Church at Forest Grove and remained a true member until death.

Fifty-one grandchildren also survive, and 26 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, two half brothers, and three half-sisters.
