Sylvia Bernfeld, 93, of Sarasota, formerly of Baltimore and Brooklyn, N.Y., died Nov. 7, 2009. Services will be at 11am on Nov. 20 at Palms Memorial Park. Covell Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
Survivors include daughter Joyce of Sarasota and grandson Jeff of Maryland.
Sylvia was born in New York City. She moved to Sarasota in 1976 from Brooklyn, where she worked as an executive secretary for Rheingold Breweries. She was a member of Temple Sinai, Hadassah and National Council of Jewish Women.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Bernfeld; son Stephen Bernfeld; and sister Rena Rothlein.
