Death of George A. Luke. George A. Luke died at his home, 600 Lincoln Avenue, Tuesday afternoon, at 2:30 o'clock after a protracted period of failing health, culminating in heart failure. Funeral services have been appointed for Thursday afternoon, 2:30 o'clock, at the home. Interment will be made in Maple Grove Cemetery. Mr. Luke was born in Leavittsburg, Ohio, December 10, 1850, son of Anthony and Emeline Booth Luke, and came to Ravenna twenty-three years ago from Garrettsville. He was married to Miss Lavina Hunt of Vineland, New Jersey 54 years ago. He death occurred shortly after the fiftieth of their marriage, which they celebrated in 1920. He is survived by his sons, Charles Luke of Ravenna, A.D. Luke of Cleveland, and by his daughter Bertha E. wife of Joseph Kirk of South Chestnut street. There are no surviving brothers or sisters. he was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church, and lived in quiet performance of the duties of husband, father, citizen and businessman, an exemplar of American manhood. He established an oil and gasoline delivery station soon after coming to Ravenna, retiring from the business about four years ago.
