*Caroline was my 3rd great grandmother

Caroline WARNER was born on 5 July 1804 in New York and died on 22 August 1894 in Arbela Township, Tuscola Co., Michigan.

She was the daughter of Ephraim Warner (abt 1774- ) and unknown mother.

Caroline married Clinton Henry Beebe in 1825 in New York. They had the following children:

Lucilia (1825- ), Charles (1827-1913), Eli Henry (1828-1908), Ephraim Carlos (1833-1912), Cornelia L. (1836-1929), Abryon 'Byron' (1839-1910), Francis M. (1840-1921), Edwin (1843-1863), and Hyland Clifford Beebe (1844-1914).

We have not found any early census records for Clinton and Caroline, but we did find them on the following census records:

1850 - Attica, Lapeer Co., Michigan
1860 - Birch Run, Saginaw Co., Michigan
1870 - Birch Run, Saginaw Co., Michigan

In addition, Caroline is found on the 1880 census in Arbela, Tuscola Co., Michigan. Her 3-year old granddaughter, Florence M. Beebe is living with her (Florence son of Caroline's son, Hyland Clifford Beebe).

Caroline and Clinton's sons served in the Civil War and one of their sons, Edwin, died at the Battle of Gettysburg. On 21 June 1875, Caroline applied for Edwin's pension for his service in the Civil War and it appears it was granted as there is a record of the pension application which lists the certificate number as #177382.

Their sons that we know served in the Civil War were Charles, Abryon, Ephraim Carlos and Francis. I also believe that their sons Eli Henry and Hyland Clifford Beebe also served in the Civil War, but we do not have their military records.

Caroline died on 22 August 1894 in Arbela Township, Tuscola Co., Michigan and we believe that she is buried in Pine Grove Cemetery next to her husband, Clinton Henry Beebe.

This is based on a conversation I had with the Pine Grove Cemetery administrator on 17 Dec 2008 who indicated that there is an unknown Beebe buried in Pine Grove Cemetery in Arbela Twp., Tuscola, MI, USA in Section D, Lot 73 along with other family members: Henry Clinton [or Clinton Henry], Unknown Beebe [Caroline?], Fannie Beebe and an infant Beebe.

We, and others, believe that the 'unknown Beebe' is Caroline as the grave site is right next to Clinton Henry's which is where his wife would be buried. In addition to that, Caroline died in Arbela Township so it stands to reason that she would be buried next to her husband in the cemetery in the area in which they both lived and died.

The grave sites are between the 2nd and 3rd driveway off of Tuscola Road.

*There are two more children whose burials we know of, but I did not add their memorial pages so I cannot link them. However, their memorial numbers are:

Ephraim Carlos Beebe - Find A Grave Memorial# 66457760
Cornelia BEEBE Higley Nelson Ayliffe - Find A Grave Memorial# 32515081
