CYRUS T. AMES
JULY 11, 1913

Cyrus T. Ames was born at Farmington, Franklin county, Maine, March 29, 1837. He died in Chatsworth July 8, 1913.

At the age of seventeen he came to Illinois, locating in LaSalle county. When the civil war broke out he enlisted in Company C, 7th Reg. Ill. Cavalry, and received an honorable discharge Nov. 4, 1865. After the war he came to Livingston county and made farming his life's vocation.

On Dec. 31, 1871, he was united in marriage to his now mourning wife. About 21 years ago they retired from farm life, making Chatsworth their home.

During the past four years, Mr. Ames was almost a continuous sufferer from disease, but for the past three months his decline was rapid. He was the last of his family, all his brothers and sisters having preceded him in death.

The funeral was held from the M.E. church this morning, Rev. H.J. Schreiner officiating. The remains were given an escort to their last resting place by members of the G.A.R.
