Dwight B. Leonard, Jr. of Wanamaker, passed away on Sunday, August 15, 2010. He was born January 15, 1927, in Kokomo, Indiana, to the late Edyna Swartz Leonard and Dwight B. Leonard, Sr. He was also preceded in death by sisters, Maxine Hartman and Arline Foland. He married Joan K. Peters on July 3, 1957, and she preceded him in death on October 24, 1993. He then married Maria Kosowan on February 22, 1996, and she survives. He was a member of Zion United Church of Christ. After graduating from Kokomo High School in 1944, he served in the Navy as a Fireman First Class on the USS Thomas, a destroyer escort, until the war was over. He worked at Delco in Kokomo for a few years before attending Butler University College of Pharmacy, where he was a member of the Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity and graduated in 1955. He worked for Hartman Pharmacy in Wanamaker during and after his college years. For a short period of time in the mid-1950's, he owned Leonard Pharmacy in Logansport, Indiana, but later returned to Indianapolis to work for Hartman Pharmacy from the late 1950s to the mid 1970s. He then worked for Hooks/Revco/CVS at English and Spencer in Indianapolis unti his retirement in 1992. He enjoyed golf, bowling, travel, camping and target shooting. Other survivors include sons, Joseph (Beverly) Leonard of Theodore, Alabama, and James Leonard of Indianapolis; daughter, Cynthia Timm of Greenfield, Indiana; grandchildren, Dirk (Tasha) Leonard of Ladoga, Indiana; Tara (Troy) Elless of Ladoga, Indiana; Brandon Timm of Greenfield, Indiana; Laura Leonard of Mobile, Alabama; Sarah Leonard of Mobile, Alabama; great-grandchildren, Austin Leonard, Autumn Leonard, Ty Elless, and Isabella Elless, all of Ladoga, Indiana; numerous nephews and nieces; stepchildren, Gary (Meda) Kosowan, Robert (Marsha) Kosowan, and Bradley Kosowan; step-grandchildren, Wendy Timm, Adam (Jessica) Kosowan, Nicole (James) Johnson, Abby Chaudron, and Danielle Kosowan; step-great-grandchildren, Rowen Garza, Paige Kosowan, Kendal Johnson, and Taylor Kosowan.

Services entrusted to Shirley Brothers Mortuaries. Half of cremains buried with his first wife and half to provided to the family.
