IN MEMORY OF WALTER HAROLD MILLER
Walter Harold Miller, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Miller was born in Westfield, Wisconsin, October 10, 1894.
He attended the public school of Westfield and graduated from the high school with the class of 1913. Following this he taught school for one year, attended Stevens Point Normal during one summer then graduated in post-graduate work in this high school.
Later he attended school at Milwaukee and became a graduate undertaker. Returning to this village he has been employed by H. W. Schwark for nearly nine years.
He was actively interested in athletic work and acted as Basket Ball Coach and referee for several years.
During the World War he volunteered his services and received an honorable discharge.
On June 14, 1922 he united in marriage to Edith Fullmer and they continued to make Westfield their home. To this union was born one daughter, Lois Hazel, June 20, 1925.
Being ever industrious he was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge and the American Legion and at one time was a member of the American Legion Band. He was well-liked and in losing him they feel they have indeed lost a true friend and helper.
His death occurring so suddenly was a shock to all. Suffering from an attack of plurisy, he contracted pluro pneumonia and passed away at his home about 11:00 o'clock, October 6, 1925 at the age of 30 years, 11 months, 26 days.
His cheerful and thoughtful disposition have endeared him to those about him. He leaves to mourn, his wife and daughter, father and mother, one sister Anna, Wautoma, Wis., four brothers Herman, Westfield, Wis.; Arthur, Waupun, Wis.; Alfred, Brandon, Wis.; and Harold, Portage, Wis; and many other relatives and a multitude of friends.
The funeral was held Friday, Oct. 9. Short services were conducted at the home after which the remains were taken to the Evangelical church, Rev. Kelsey and Scheible officiating. Interment was made in the East Cemetery.
