Elizabeth Jane Scott, daughter of Samuel and Mary Scott, was born near Lizton, April 3, 1850, died March 17, 1924, aged 73 years, 11 months and 14 days. She was married to James Ayers, Nov. 17, 1880. To this union were born seven children, three of whom died in infancy. Besides the aged husband, she leaves the four children: Stella D. Hardesty, Henry A., Iva M. and W. Frederick Ayers, nine grandchildren, four brothers, James E. Scott of Indianapolis, John W., Enos M. and Nathaniel W. Scott, near Lizton, many other relatives and friends. She was a quiet, unassuming industrious woman. Funeral was held at the Lizton Christian Church, March 19th, conducted by Rev. U. G. Abbott.
