Fred will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather and soon to be great grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, playing cards, fishing and hunting as well as watching his favorite baseball team the Houston Astros.
He is preceeded in death by his father and mother Alton and Norma Bush Hairston, his two sisters Lyndall Ruth Drummond and Dorothy Elendor Donnor.
Fred is survived by his loving wife of 48 years and 2 days Nelda Jane Vaughan Hairston, his son Richard Alan Hairston and wife Mary, daughters Susan Kay May and husband Eric, Elizabeth Ann Hurst and husband Clark, brothers Daniel Hairston and wife Tommie, Emmett Hairston and wife Evie, and Winston Hairston and wife Penny, grandchildren Keith Hairston and wife Amber, Chris Hairston, Chelsea Hairston, Jessica May, Brian May, Olivia Hurst, Grayson Hurst, Lucy Hurst, and the first great grand daughter expected in July.
