Our loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Jean Miller Ison, age 75, passed away June 11, 2003 in Salt Lake City.
Born January 21, 1928 in Salt Lake City, daughter of Leo J. and Amy Elaine Lewis Miller. She married her eternal companion, Ben Ray Ison, July 27, 1956 in the Manti LDS Temple. Mom joined the LDS Church as a teenager and took to heart the responsibility of being a member missionary. She was instrumental in all of her family joining the church. She served in many callings throughout her life, including most recently as an ordinance worker in the Jordan River Temple for the last 11 years.
She is survived by her husband, Ben;
Children:
Steven (Jolene) Ison of Illinois;
Susan Ison, Taylorsville;
Elaine (Glen) Beckstrom, West Jordan; and
Shannon (Terry) Crawford, West Jordan;
10 grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; one step great-grandchild;
Sisters: Faye (Joseph) Lundwall, Ogden and Billie (Vard) Wells, Orangeville;
Brother, David (Dea) Miller, Virginia.
She was preceded in death by sisters:
Marlene Millet and Barbara Thomas; brother, Lee Miller.
Funeral services Monday, 12 noon, at the Taylorsville 16th Ward, 3495 West 4850 South.
Friends may call Sunday, 6 - 8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, and Monday at the church, 11-11:45 a.m.
Interment, Valley View Memorial Park.
