Patrick Louis "Pat" Elbert of Lafayette died of a heart attack Feb. 15, 2003, in Willamette Valley Medical Center, McMinnville. He was 39.
He was born May 27, 1963, in Longview, Wash., the son of Louis and Ruth Roeser Elbert. He was raised and educated in Rainier, graduating from Rainier High School in 1981. He graduated from Western Oregon University in 1986.
He lived in Newberg from 1986 to 1994, then moved to Lafayette. He had worked as a quality assurance manager for A.R.E. Manufacturing, Newberg since 1986.
He enjoyed playing golf, computers, travel, football and NASCAR.
Family members said he had a great sense of humor and was a friend to everyone.
Survivors include his parents, both of Rainier; three sisters, Carole Elbert and Janice Elbert, both of Lafayette and Dianne Krause of Longview, Wash.; and two brothers, Stephen Elbert of Aloha and Christopher Elbert of Salem.
