Elsie Lou Newland, 94, of Denton died Friday, March 26, 1999, at her home.
She was born July 20, 1904, in Sanger to Perry and Matilda Selzer George. She married Everett Newland, April 9, 1922 in Blue Mound. He died August 22, 1958.
Mrs. Newland worked as a marchine operator for Russell-Newman Manufacturing Company and retired in 1966. She was a member of Center Point Baptist Church.
Services will be at 10 am, Monday, March 29, in the chapel of Mulkey-Mason, Jack Schmitz and Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Hubert Ray officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park.
Pall bearers will be Ronnie Newland, Billy Jack Newland, Kenneth Newland, Shane Erwin, Rodney Blagg and Eddie Coker.
The family will be at the funeral home for visitation from 7 to 8 pn Sunday, March 28.
Survivors include one Daughter, Vonnie Hunter of Denton; five sons, W. H. (Dub) Newland of Lewisville, Eldridge Newland, Ray Newland, Joe Newland and Lafayette Newland, all of Denton; two sisters, Mamie Ruth Covvey of Sanger and Lillie Pearl Logan of Gainesville; one brother, James George of Argyle; 11 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. One great grandson preced her in death in 1995.
