Julia Guidry Esponge, 100, a native of Golden Meadow and resident of Galliano, died at 8:32 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2009.

Visitation will be from 5 to 10 p.m. Monday and from 8 to 10:45 a.m. Tuesday at Falgout Funeral Home. Mass will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Galliano, with burial at Hebert Cemetery in Galliano.

She is survived by one daughter, Gerline Esponge Vizier; five grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 23 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Provis Esponge; her parents, Armond Sr. and Rosita Lee Guidry; one daughter, Levinia Gisclair; three brothers, Armond Jr., Andre and Louie Guidry; four sisters, Celima Esponge, Angelina Anselmi, Donatile Johnfroe and Rosita Borne; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
