My name is Velma Moreno, daughter of Den Moreno. I regret to inform you and the Fremont Class of 1973 that my father, Den Moreno passed away on September 27, 2009 following a sudden illness.

DEN MORENO
WESLACO - Den Moreno, 56, passed away Sunday, September 27, 2009, at Knapp Medical Center in Weslaco, following a sudden illness. He was employed as a draftsman at Sigler Winston and Greenwood Consulting Engineers in Weslaco. He is survived by his wife, Diana Cardenas Moreno of Weslaco; sons, Marcos Moreno of Corpus Christi and David Moreno of Weslaco; daughter, Vilma Moeno of Austin; stepdaughters, Brandi (Moses) Villarreal and Chanel (Antonio) Navarro; six grandchildren. He is also survived by his parents, Salvador and Carmen Moreno of Ohio; brothers, Refugio (Marlene) Moreno of Traverse City, Michigan, Jose (Kim) Moreno, Lazaro Moreno, Alfredo Moreno, Francisco Moreno, all of Ohio, and Noe Moreno of Arkansas; sisters, Olga (Adolfo) Lopez, Soila Esquivel, Rosaura (Wade) Parker, all of Ohio and Diana (Ian) Johnson of Japan; 14 nieces and nephews.
A rosary was recited Monday evening at 7 p.m. at McCaleb Funeral Home Chapel in Weslaco. Funeral Mass will be celebrated today, Wednesday, September 30, 2009, at 10 a.m. at San Martin De Porres Catholic Church in Weslaco. Interment to follow at Weslaco City Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Refugio Moreno, Joe Moreno, Lazaro Moreno, Alfredo Moreno, Moses Villarreal and Antonio Navarro.
Arrangements are under the direction of McCaleb Funeral Home of Weslaco.
