ALFRED A. HOFF, 73

Alfred A. Hoff, 73, R.R.2, Sunman, (Weisburg) died Thursday, July 16, 1987, in Hospitality Hall at Margaret Mary Hospital in Batesville.

Hoff was born Nov. 17, 1913 in New Alsace, the son of Frank and Mathilda (Hoffbauer) Hoff.

He operated a general store from 1948 to 1981 and served as Weisburg postmaster from 1948 to 1976, running the Post Office our of his store. He also served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of the American Legion in New Alsace.

Hoff was married to Irma Hilbert on June 21, 1941 and she survives.

Also surviving are daughters, Donna Hoff, at home, and Carol Vorhees, Harrison, Ohio; sisters, Luella Knueven, Greensburg, and Edna Slaymon, Lehigh Acres, Fla.; a brother, Richard Hoff, Indianapolis, and one granddaughter.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. (Ohio time) Monday at St. Paul's Catholic Church in New Alsace. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. (Ohio time) Sunday at Cook Funeral Home in Sunman.

There will be a rosary at 7 p.m. and an American Legion Post service at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorials can be made to the donor's choice.
