Oril Benedict, 69, a resident of Butte des Morts for many years, died at his home in that village Thursday afternoon at 5:30 o'clock. Although he had been in ill health for some time, he had not been confined to his home, and death was due to a sudden heart attack. Mr. Benedict was born Aug. 1, 1867, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Silas Benedict.
He is survived by 10 children; Mrs. Clara Perry, George, Mrs. Margaret Sweeney, Cyrus, Raymond, and Warren, all of Butte des Morts; Mrs. Mary Andrews of Mountain, Wis.; Mrs. Vivian Nitzke of Iron Mountain, Mich.; Mrs. Lavina Schneider of Oshkosh and Mrs. Lillian Hart of this city. Surviving also are 25 grandchildren; three brothers, Jesse, Robert and Clarence, all of Butte des Morts and one sister, Mrs. May Flaherty, also of that village.
Services will be held at the Baptist church, Winneconne, Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock, the Rev. H.E. Mansfield officiating. Burial will be in Bell cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from Saturday afternoon to the time of the services.
