LIST HAWKINS, NYDEGGER DEAD
PREVIOUSLY REPORTED MISSING IN ACTION JULY 16TH WITH CO. C.
Two members of the 134th Infantry regiment, who left with Company C and who were previously reported missing in action in France, have been reported killed in action July 16. They are Staff Sgt. Floyd Hawkins and Staff Sgt. William Nydegger.
RECEIVE MESSAGE
The message from the war department received by Mr. and Mrs. Edward E. Nydegger, 1343 East Market, stated: "The secretary of war desires that I tender his deep sympathy to you in the loss of your son, Staff Sgt. William A. Nydegger, who was previously reported missing in action. The report now received states he was killed in action sixteen July in France. Letter follows. The adjutant general."
Nydegger, 25, was employed by the Western Auto company before entering the serice. He is survived by his parents, a brother, Chief Petty Officer Edward Nydegger, and two other brothers, Lee F. and Dean F. of Beatrice, and sister, Mrs. Phillip Buckholz, also of Beatrice.
