Kingman P. (Kip) Herin. Jr., 57, of Macon, died Friday, March 15, 2002 at the Medical Center of Central Georgia.Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, March 17, 2002, at Centenary United Methodist Church, 1290 College Street, Macon, Georgia, interment in Riverside Cemetery, Main Gate. The Rev. Edwin Smith, Rev. Elick Bullington, Rev. Bill Black, and Dr. Laudis H. (Rick) Lanford will officiate.

They suggest in lieu of flowers, that memorial contributions be made to Centenary United Methodist Church, 1290 College Street,Macon, GA 31201 or the Methodist Home for Children and Youth, P. O. Box 2525, Macon, GA 31203-2525.

Mr. Herin was the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. O. E. Marshall and the late Mr. and Mrs. Elick Bullington, Sr. and the son of Dot Herin Sutton and Clyde Sutton of Macon, Georgia and the late Kingman P. Herin, Sr. of Hazlehurst, Georgia.

He was a lifelong resident of Macon, Georgia and a graduate of Lanier High School. He attended North Georgia Military College in Dahlonega, Georgia. He retired from BellSouth and was currently head PGA Golf Professional and General Manager at Riverside Golf and Country Club.

Mr. Herin was a member of BellSouth Pioneers Life Member Club and a member of the Professional Golf Association of America. He was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church where he served as Chairman of Stewardship and was past President of the Administrative Board. He was an active member of the Methodist Men's Club and a past member of the Macon Exchange Club.

Survivors include his wife, Susan Hall Herin, Macon; son, Kingman P. (Tres) Herin,lll, hisdaughter-in-law, Rhonda Pruitt Herin, grandaughter, MaryClaire Herin, all of Macon; parents, Dot and Clyde Sutton, Macon; sister, Miriam Herin Harper and brother-in-law, John (Buddy) Harper, both of Bonaire; sister, Linda Sutton Fletcher and brother-in-law, Alan Fletcher, both of Baton Rouge, LA; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph C. Hall, Sr. of Ochlocknee, GA; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph C. Hall,Jr. of Meigs, GA; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Larry A. Hall of Ochlocknee, GA; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. John Snyder of Blountstown, FL, and several nieces and nephews.

Note - Larry M. Davis contacted Kip about 1995 and gave him a copy of our family genealogy. Kip told Larry that when his father died he changed his name from K. P. lll to K. P. Jr. and his son changed from K. P. lV to K. P. lll. With this in mind we can go by dates to keep the K. P.s straight.
