Ray Dean Baumgarden was born September 27, 1926, near Gerster, MO to Jessie and Lula Tucker Baumgarden.

Mr. Baumgarden passed away January 9, 1990, in Newport, Oregon. Ray was baptized at an early age and joined the Gerster Baptist Church.

Mr. Baumgarden was an Army veteran and served in World War II. Ray Dean had many years of crippling arthritis. He had been lovingly cared for by relatives until the last few months, which his condition had deteriorated to where he required professional care. Mr. Baumgarden entered a nursing care center in Newport, Oregon near his nephew, Harvey and wife Betty, who saw to his needs until his passing. He had expressed his desire to go to his eternal home where pain or death cannot enter.

Mr. Baumgarden is survived by one son of Lexington, MO; two daughters both of Independence, MO; one sister of Weaubleau, Mo; five grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relative and many friends.

Mr. Baumgarden was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

Services were held on Saturday, January 13, at 1 p.m., at the Sheldon-Goodrich Chapel, interment was at Kings Prairie Cemetery under the direction of Sheldon-Goodrich Funeral Home of Osceola, Missouri.
