Victim of the sinking of the Tuscania which took 170 lives; originally buried on the Scottish coast where the bodies washed up.

The American Legion in Red Lake Falls MN is named for him.

NOTE: Various sources give different casualty numbers - some sources exceed 200 deaths.

Approximately 215 American soldiers died in the sinking of the "Tuscania."
