Lancaster: Helena Mae "Tater" (Dugan) Azbell, 90, of Lancaster, Ohio passed away Thursday August 5, 2010 at Crestview Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Service.

She was born December 10, 1919 to the late Thomas Dugan and Bertha Dugan Nye.

She was a 1937 graduate of Lancaster High School and School Colors were Purple and Gold and retired from Anchor Hocking Glass Corporation with over 30 years of service.

She was a member of the former First Chrisian Church, AARP, and Olivedale Senior Citizens Center.

Helena is survived by daughters, Betty Lehman, Helen Azbell, Becky Ridenour all of Lancaster, Ohio and Donna Azbell of Covington, Kentucky; son, Joe Azbell of Lancaster, Ohio; four grandchildren, Randy (Amie) Azbell, Scott Ridenour, Shelley (Chris) Rohr and Nicholas Azbell; and two great-grandchildren, Austin (Andreia) Rohr and William Azbell; two great-great-grandchildren, Chris Carson James Woltz and Kileigh Rchelle Rohr; sister-in-law, Helen "Mickey" Azbell of Lancaster, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews. A special thanks go to the Eckert Wing where she received loving care.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence "Shrimp" Edward Azbell; her parents; step-father, Pearl Nye; brothers, James Nye, Donald Nye and William Nye.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. in the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home Chapel 405 North Columbus Street Lancaster, Ohio 43130.

Burial to follow in Maple Grove Cemetery Lancaster, Ohio. Friends may visit Monday from 5 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
