Ensign K. N. Ashcraft, USNR, was designated Naval Aviator #8235 in 1941. Entered active service via the pre-war Aviation Cadet (AVCAD) program.

Lieut. Ashcraft, and his crew of a PBY patrol plane, were declared missing in action on 27 December 1943 in the South Pacific area of operations.

Kent was one of three Ashcraft brothers to lose their lives in the service of their country during the Second World War.
