Philip Carlson

Philip H. Carlson, age 71, of Gibbon, died Sunday morning, November 25, at a New UIm Hospital.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Clear Lake Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. The Rev. Leon Andersen officiated and pallbearers were Willard, Dale and Douglas Carlson, Arden Peterson, Donald Huston and Donald Vermeulen.

He is survived by his wife, Viola; a son, Glenn of Gibbon; a daughter, Mrs. John (Gloria) Norlinger of St. Paul; seven grandchildren; brothers, Roger of Minneapolis, Jewel of Bruce, S.D. and Bert of Lafayette, sisters, Mrs. Philip Peterson of Steger, Ill., Mrs. Edgar Hoppenstedt of Minneapolis and Mrs. Vincent Peterson of Pierz.

He was born Sept. 10, 1902 in Severance Township, Sibley County to Mr. and Mrs. John Carlson. He married Viola Carlson Aug. 16, 1931 at Buffalo.

Carlson farmed in Severance Township until 1968 when he retired into Gibbon.

He was also employed by Hands Inc. at Winthrop for the past four years.
