Vernelle P. Boozer, age 78, of Pine Avenue, Spruce Pine, NC, passed away November 2, 2008 in Burnsville, NC. She was the daughter of the late Royalty and Jessie Payne Porter. She previously worked as a Secretary and was a homemaker. She was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include: her husband, Virgil Boozer, daughter, Donna Kearns of Spruce Pine, NC, sisters, Tessie Drummond of Monticello, GA, Priscilla Foster of Greenville, SC, Carlene Worrell of Florida, brothers, James Blalock of Melbourne, FL, Michael Porter of Shipley, FL, granddaughter, Jennifer Boozer, and grandson, Brandon Boozer.
She was preceded in death by her son, Brad Boozer.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 4, 2008 at 8:00 PM in the Chapel of Henline-Hughes Funeral Home in Bakersville, NC. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service. Jim Sutton will be officiating the service.
Private entombment will be at a later date.
