Howard M. Eden, 73, died at 11:20 p.m. Thursday at his home in Bonaparte. Mr. Eden was born in Lone Tree, Iowa, July 3, 1893. His parents were John and Sarah Draubaugh Eden. On May 21, 1914, at Morning Sun, he married Frata Morrison. He had farmed in the Bonaparte community since 1940. The deceased was a member of the Methodist church. Besides his widow he is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Alan Latta and Mrs. Ray Swanson of Lone Tree, Mrs. Dorrence Hemmings, Donnellson, Mrs. Quentin Dilger, South Pasadena, Calif., Mrs. Forrest Wilson, Bonaparte; three sons, Fred Eden, Bonaparte, George Eden, Silver Springs, Md., Ralph Eden, Muscatine; two brothers, George and Elmer Eden, Lone Tree; one sister, Mrs. Myrtle Vethier, Santa Ana, Calif.; 23 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. His parents, one brother and three sisters preceded him in death. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday in the Bonaparte Methodist church with the Rev. Harold Schirm officiating. Burial will be in Swank cemetery at Lone Tree. The body is at the Miller Home for Funerals in Farmington and will be taken to the Carl Wilson home in Bonaparte at noon on Saturday.
