Locke - October 1991- Services for Cora L. Higgins, of 759 Dresser Road, who died Wednesday at Cortland Memorial Hospital following a long illness, will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday at the St. Margaret's Church, Homer. Burial will be in Taylor Valley Cemetery, Taylor. Calling hours will be 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Donald L. Barber Funeral Home, Homer. A vigil service will be held at 8:30 p.m. She was born in Taylor and a lifelong resident. She was a member and communicant of St. Margaret's Roman Catholic Church in Homer for 26 years. Prior to her retirement in 1972, she was a teacher for the Homer Central Schools for 21 years and also taught at the Cincinnatus School for 20 years. Mrs. Higgins was a graduate of Cincinnatus Central School and the Cortland State Teacher's College. She and her husband of 44 years, William Higgins, have owned and operated a dairy farm in Summerhill since 1948. In addition to her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Patricia McCloy III of Locke; two sisters, Martha Terwilliger of Cortland and Alpha Cross of Nashville, Tenn.; two grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
