Oscar Whitney Dies At Age of Seventy-Six.
Oscar Whitney, seventy-six years old, retired railroad man, died at his home at 318 Fifth street yesterday morning following an extended illness. He was a native of Ohio and had made his home in Chico for many years.
Funeral services will be held at the home tomorrow afternoon at 2:30, Rev. Geo. T. Meeker, officiating. Interment will be made in Chico [sic] cemetery.

Seth Whitney, 89, of 16 San Pablo Avenue died yesterday in a local rest home, where he had been a patient several months.
Whitney, a native of Missouri, was a painting contractor in Fresno from 1912 to 1957. He was a former president of the local chapter of the Master Painters and Decorating Contractors of California.
He is survived by a daughter, Mrs Mabel Kestler of St Louis, Mo; two stepsons, Jack Akin of Santa Ana, Orange County, and Earl Akin of Berkeley, and several grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 10 AM in the Sullivan, Burns & Blair Chapel.
Burial will be in Belmont Memorial Park.
