John Collver and his wife Miriam Culver were second cousins, as their respective fathers, Jabez and Timothy were first cousins. They are part of what is known as the "Double Culver Quartette" where four brothers who were the sons of Jabez Collver, married four sisters who were the daughters of Timothy Culver. The four daughters of Timothy were Miriam, Anna, Elizabeth and Martha Culver, who married their second cousins, the four sons of Jabez, Jabez, Jr., Aaron, John and Gabriel, in the order named. The surname was spelled Collver, Colver and Culver by various family members over the years.
