HOUSTON -- Billy Lee Burklow, 72, retired from sales, died Monday, Nov, 27, 1999, at home. Funeral: 2 p.m. Wednesday at Shannon North Funeral Home in Fort Worth. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, to a charity of choice. Billy Lee Burklow was born Aug. 28, 1927, in Fort Worth. He graduated from North Side High School and attended NTAC in Arlington. Bill served in the Navy during World War II. His deep love of sports included playing football, baseball, and finally, his true love, golf. He was a charter member and lifetime contributor of the Ft. Worth Boys Club. Uncle Billy doted on his many nieces and nephews and dearly loved his family and many friends. He will best be remembered by his outstanding personality, sense of humor and his infectious smile. He will be missed dearly by his family and friends and all who knew him. To everything there is a season. Survivors: Wife of 48 years, Evelyn "Pie" Burklow of Houston; brothers, Roy Burklow and his wife, Dorris, of Hurst, Mal Burklow and his wife, Beverly of Horseshoe Bay and Jim Bynum and his wife, Nicole, of Weatherford; sister, Nola Starnes of Fort Worth; sister-in- law, Frances Jackson and her husband, Cleo, of Houston; and numerous lovingnieces and nephews.
