"Taken 22 November 1864. Age 40. Lives in Reynolds County, Missouri. Born Henry County, Tennessee. Was captured about October 23, 1864. Was conscripted by Shelby's men. September 22, 1864 with them 1 month, deserted. Was meet and arrested by federal soldiers and taken to Fort Scott. Has not in armies, private, no company or regiment. Sent to Graliot November 6, 1864. Not sworn into Rebel service. Never took _____ Oath. Served under Price and not south. Sys__pa(?) want to ____ south put down. Have wife and six children. Am a farmer. One brother-in-law, two nephews in Rebellion. Not bus-____(?). Refer to William Capeland, William Dawson, James W. Bowers, Mastin Stegal and Lewis Allen, __________, Missouri.
