Miss Bullock was a veteran educator employed by the Webster Parish School Board, beginning in the middle 1920s. She was named "Teacher of the Year" in 1960. She was one of the first women placed in educational administration as the principal of the junior high grades 7-8 prior to 1960. Her last years were spent at the former Lowe Junior High School in Minden, which first opened in 1960. She also sold encyclopedias and worked part-time for the former Wren Mercantile in Minden. She was an active Baptist. She never married.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Minden; its pastor at the time, Dr. Ronald Prince, preached her funeral at the Osborn Funeral Home chapel in Shreveport.

Her pallbearers included the Webster Parish School Superintendent W. W. Williams and the Minden attorney Luther Moore.

After she retired from teaching, she was for many years a private tutor. She died at her home in Minden after a lengthy illness.

She is buried to the left side of her parents in an overgrown fenced section of Camp Zion Cemetery, which was known as Mt. Zion Cemetery at the time of her death.
