She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Minden; its pastor at the time, Dr. Ronald Prince, preached her funeral at the Osborn Funeral Home chapel in Shreveport.
Her pallbearers included the Webster Parish School Superintendent W. W. Williams and the Minden attorney Luther Moore.
After she retired from teaching, she was for many years a private tutor. She died at her home in Minden after a lengthy illness.
She is buried to the left side of her parents in an overgrown fenced section of Camp Zion Cemetery, which was known as Mt. Zion Cemetery at the time of her death.
